NEW YORK TO OVERRIDE PARENTAL CONSENT LAWS FOR CERTAIN VACCINES? In a daring attempt to establish a new kind of precedent, the New York State Legislature seeks to override parental consent laws and give government the authority to compel your minor-aged school to receive current and future vaccines and drugs for sexually transmitted diseases without your consent. Senate bill S04779 passed the Senate Health Committee on January 20, 2009. It must now pass through a technical committee, typically Rules or Codes, before reaching the Senate floor for a full vote. That is happening tomorrow, Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. with a vote in the Codes Committee of the New York Senate. The identical companion bill is in New York Assembly Health Committee, Assembly bill A6702-C. Movement in the Senate could placed added pressure for the Assembly to get their bill moving as If it passes the Assembly, it will appear on Governor Paterson's desk for his signature to become New York State law. When it comes to our children, we acknowledge the supremacy of parental consent laws for nearly all things big and small. In New York State, it is a misdemeanor to give a minor-aged child a tattoo or body piercing without parental consent. Do we want our government to overrule parental authority when it comes to vaccines and drugs? |
 IF IT CAN HAPPEN IN ONE STATE, IT CAN HAPPEN IN YOURS Are Teachers and Police Officers Next? The trend towards increased government-compelled vaccination, as a requirement of employment, school and daycare admission is on the rise. All fifty states mandate a certain number of childhood vaccines for school admission. In 2008, the state of New Jersey mandated the seasonal flu shot for children 6 to 59 months of age. The U.S. military followed suit for on-base child care programs. In 2009, the governments of the world brought vaccines for the swine flu pandemic to all our communities. New York State mandated the seasonal and H1N1 swine flu vaccines for a large segment of healthcare workers. (It was later withdrawn by Health Commissioner Daines due to supply constraints. Some believe it is more accurate to credit the potential involvement of the healthcare workers' unions, the ACLU, and legal action filed.) Selectively, hospitals and other healthcare environments across the country mandated the shot for their employees. If healthcare workers are on the front lines of the infectious disease/personal rights battle, who's to say that teachers and police officers are not next in line? And maybe you. A CALL TO ACTION FOR ALL AMERICANS One of my New Jersey friends called this morning and reached New York Senator Dale M. Volker. His aide said that the senator plans to take a conservative stand on this issue and vote against the measures. Here's what you need to do. All Americans need to call today. Now. - If a child has a drug or vaccine reaction, the parents won't know what is happening or how to help
- These bills apply to ALL children - there is NO age limit
- A child's has a limited capacity to understand pharmaceutical drug and vaccine risks and identify side effects they may experience
- Unknown vaccine administrators don't know the child's medical history, vaccine contraindications, allergies, and past vaccine reactions
- Children unknowingly are giving up their legal rights when asking for a vaccine because Federal law (PL 99-660) removes liability from vaccine manufacturers and doctors for injuries and deaths caused by vaccines
- The HPV vaccine, which this bill would include, has already been associated with thousands of reactions and dozens of deaths
- The open ended language allows for any future vaccines for STDS to be given without parental knowledge or consent - coming soon and already in the research pipeline are vaccines for Syphilis, gonorrhea and HIV

The New Jersey Coalition For Vaccination Choice is planning a call-in campaign on Wednesday, February 10. PHARMA INSIDER POONAM ALAIGH, MD TO BE NJ STATE HEALTH COMMISSIONER Dr. Poonam Alaigh was named commissioner of the state Health and Senior Services Department by Gov. Chris Christie. The position must be confirmed by the State Senate. Here's her background: Most recently, Director of Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey Formerly, National Medical Director, GlaxoSmithKline, the world's second largest pharmaceutical firm. GSK makes a lot of vaccines. She is an internal medicine physician who practices medicine at the New Jersey Veterans Administration Hospital in Lyons. She has served as president of the American Heart Association of New Jersey. She lives in Warren, New Jersey. It's pharma country in these parts and that's the reality of our political landscape. Chris Christie needed our votes and that is why he came to us and asked us to support him in exchange for a promise.
