Dear Louise,

My Name is Dara.  My daughter was sick all of the time when she was a baby and toddler. It would start as a sniffle, and turn into croup. She would be prescribed cortisone drugs and nebulizer treatments.  Then she would get unexplained viruses and infections, and then be prescribed antibiotics.  This would happen every month and went on for a few years.

After taking her to an ear, nose and throat specialist and finding there was nothing wrong, I knew it had to be something else.  I lost faith in the medical system.  I decided to take her to a naturopath.  After blood, urine and stool analysis we found she had high levels of mercury, fungal problems and severe gut issues.  We began treating her for these issues.  We cut out all processed foods, food dyes and sugar.  We also began eating organic foods.

I took all the test results to my daughter's pediatrician, wanting to show him the mercury levels.  He told me "You are being scammed by a snake oil salesmen.  These testing companies skew the test results to show things that don't exist."  I left completely disgusted.

During the next trip to the pediatrcian I asked what his theory was regarding the rise in autism, asthma, developmental disorders and childhood diseases over the past 20 years.

GET READY FOR THIS... He told me, "The rise in childhood infections and diseases is due to the fact that we Americans are hung up on cleanliness. There is to much anti bacterial product use, and that has not allowed our children's immune systems to become strong."  THEN he said, "I believe the rise in autism is from all the "techy" people out in Silicon Valley who are so brilliant and have Aspergers Syndrome are all getting together and procreating, and that accounts for the rise in autism."  I wanted to ask him why they all picked up and moved to New Jersey.  Given the fact that we have one of the highest rates in the country.  But I could see there was going to be no logical conversation with this man.  We agreed to disagree.  The thing I find most disturbing is that he is a very respected pediatrician in xxx, NJ.  Most of the town goes to him.

My daughter is now 7 1/2 years old. The treatment we have chosen has helped her.  Her health has improved and so has her behavior.  However, she has been diagnosed with ADHD and struggles in school.  Also, her attention, focus and good behavior decline when she doesn't follow the strict diet.  Following this diet is not an easy task when all of her friends at home and school eat so poorly.  It is no wonder obesity and neurological disorders are so prevelant.  Between vaccine damage and a lack of proper nutrition these poor kids don't have a chance.

Sincerely,

Dara
