Dear Mr. Christie, I voted for you in the last election and I look forward to your leadership as the republican governor in New Jersey! I am a mother and I feel hopeful because of two major reasons:
Did you know that out of 191 countries in the world, the United States is number 72 when it comes to overall health, despite the fact that our health care is the most expensive? I believe one of the problems is that we are over medicating our children. The countries with the highest health scores have a significant number of practitioners who use herbal medicines, homeopathic remedies, acupuncture and nutritional treatments. Unfortunately, insurance does not help with "alternative" medicine (maybe one day you can influence this issue as well). I also want to voice my concern for fluoridated water. I do not want my water fluoridated. As a mother with a young baby, it is important to know how much fluoride she is ingesting. I do not want fluoride in my water. I am completely against the New Jersey Public Water Supply Fluoridation Act, Senate Bill S2856. Additionally, I wish you would demonstrate your sincerity to engage legislature in a discussion of the issues and concerns related to vaccination choice, the position for Health Commissioner, and how you plan to give parents a "seat at the table." Nevertheless, thank you for what you promised and what you proceed to do once you take office. Regards, Jennifer Forino New Jersey |
