JODI GARDNER, OTR, PEDIATRIC OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST, SPRING LAKE, NJ

I have to start by saying thank you to Louise for creating such a resourceful and informational website!  She has inspired and empowered me in so many aspects of motherhood since I met her.  I appreciate all that you do, Louise, to unconditionally inform parents about the most controversial health topics and empower us to follow our instincts and make choices for our families that we feel are right!

I took the power back!

Hi, my name is Jodi.  I am a mother of two little boys and a pediatric occupational therapist.  My journey to leading a more holistic lifestyle started with my first born.  After a year of following all the advice of a traditional pediatrician, I finally gathered up the courage to listen to my intuition and seek out a new approach.  I ended up attending the Holistic Moms Network 2004 Annual Conference.  I was empowered!  I was surrounded by moms, dads, and professionals that were also interested in vaccination safety, nutrition, and integrative medicine!  From that moment on, I had the resources to find the information I needed to make informed choices for my family.

I first met Louise at one of her vaccine choices talks and then began working with her directly for nutritional counseling and homotoxicology.  Our family then began to make exciting changes in our diets and was experiencing significant improvements with our health.  Just when I was feeling so confident, “it” happened.  My son came down with a fever.  As funny as this may sound, I had this irrational fear of fevers.  Despite the fact that I knew Tylenol was a concern due to glutathione depletion, I was also afraid not to give it to lower the fever.  I am now proud to say that I conquered my fear and was able to care for a fever of 104 degrees without Tylenol.  I followed some simple standard steps, implemented homeopathic remedies, and had the emotional support I needed!  For me, this was a watershed moment.  I took the power back!  I was reminded how important it is to have the confidence to trust yourself and make the changes that you believe are best for you and your family!

Since that time, my son has had two more fevers in which I cared for naturally!  In my experience, the transition to holistic health did not come overnight.  It has been a journey.  This is just a simple way to say "you can do it!"  I hope this website provides you with the information that you are seeking to make informed choice and lifestyle changes to lead a happier and healthier life!

KATE GRAY, PREGNANT MOM, NEW HOPE, PA

Louise, I attended a vaccination seminar given by you in New Jersey a few months back, at the time, I was newly pregnant and had so many thoughts and feelings to sort through. Although I enjoyed the seminar immensely, I have to admit, I took the information home and did not do any serious thinking about it for a few more months. Now, 7.5 months pregnant, I am on this site almost everyday, trying to learn and sift through all that I can. I haven't yet come to any concrete decision, but this website is a godsend, is indespensible to me, and reminds me that I am not alone. I cannot thank you enough for the effort and research you have put in to provide such a comprehensive and easy to navigate website. Most importantly to me, the facts are presented in an unbiased and understanding manner here, providing a safe forum for exploring ones own feelings on the subject. Thank you, thank you, thank you for all you and anyone who has participated in this has done. Many blessings.

I'm happy to say that my son was scheduled to complete his vaccination series just this very morning and I'm so glad I went with my gut and declined. I called my friend when I got home to ask her if she thought I did the right thing and she recommended that I watch the "Vaccine Trust Gap" video series on youtube (parts one, two and three). After watching your informative delivery of facts, I feel relieved and affirmed about acting on my instincts. Back when my son had received his second round of shots, I had complained to my husband that he didn't seem "right" to me. He has had a horrible time adjusting to new situations and it would seem to me that he is overly sensitive to sights and sounds. I pray to God that he doesn't have a neurological impairment, which was the sole determining factor in declining any further immunizations. I simply don't want to pour fuel on the fire. In the meantime, his pediatrician referred me to a specialist to check out his sensitivities. My daughter (now age 7) was also diagnosed as having experienced "neurological reaction" to the pertussis vaccination, and as instructed by her very conscientious pediatrician (unfortunately, now retired) never received it again.

Thank you for what you are doing. A lot of people are going to benefit from your life's work. I'd love to attend one of your speaking engagements.

I am a regular mom with two young children.  Katie is 3 and Dylan is 1½.   When I say regular, I mean regular.  I am not a vegetarian, I don’t have a cause, I am not an activist, and I’ve always taken my medical prescriptions when sick…without question. It wasn’t until the end of my pregnancy with Katie that I began to open my eyes. During that wonderful time of maternity leave before the baby is born but after being finished at work, I had precious time (that I haven’t seen since!).  I read.

My cousin recommended a book called What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Children's Vaccinations by Dr. Stephanie Cave. This was the beginning of a path that I didn’t know I had started upon, however I continue on it today. I honestly had no idea about vaccines.  It was my opinion that of course vaccines were safe.  I never gave them a second thought until reading this book.  My eyes were opened, but not nearly to the extent that they were when I met Louise Kuo Habakus, founder of Life Health Choices.

As a teacher in the public school system, I see the autism, asthma and ADD.  This should not be accepted.

For me it started by simply getting onto Louise’s e-mail newsletter.  As the information started rolling into my inbox, I began becoming more and more wary about vaccines.  I attended a seminar given by Louise and never looked back. The depth of her knowledge and her commitment to spread it to others like me, who are blindly in the mainstream, are inspiring.  Through Louise, I have come to realize that yes, I do have choices. No, I do not have to give my newborn, just hours old, a Hep B shot for a disease she can only get from me or by having sex.  I do not have to give my 18-month old baby an MMR shot for three illnesses that are typically not even life-threatening!  And I should absolutely have the right to tell my daycare I do not want to give my child a flu shot.

As a teacher in the public school system, I am aware of the neurological problems today’s children face. From autism to ADD to severe allergies, I see the whole gamut in our children every day. What I have come to realize is that this is not okay. This is not normal and should not be accepted. I now see that we can and must do something about it.

It is our responsibility as parents to make these decisions for our children. I for one am thankful to have two healthy, growing babies. Both have been on delayed vaccine schedules from birth and thankfully both are developing in a healthful manner. Not everyone is lucky enough to have had a book recommended to them, or to have stumbled upon Life Health Choices.  You are!  Read on and empower yourself with this knowledge. Your children will thank you.

I feel strongly about helping to get information out there so parents can make informed choices.  Our children, our parents, ourselves, our environment should be factored first and foremost for product formulation criteria but they are not. I believe we can find answers in nature. Cradle to Cradle design by chemist Michael Braungart and architect William McDonough is a great example. They are creating manufacturing processes that don't pollute and also provide food for the earth. When waste = food, you are on your way to a sustainable future where we can safely drink our water, eat our food and breathe our air.

Who are we listening to?  Where do we get our information?

We need to correct the path of a very large ship whose helm is controlled by multinational corporations. Of the world’s 150 largest economic entities, 95 are corporations. As the world’s largest economy, the United States ranks #1. Wal-Mart ranks #22. Who are we listening to? Where do we get our information?

Life Health Choices is a great place to start. Their name says it all, Louise Kuo Habakus and the people and organizations aligning with her have a wealth of information and experience. With evident passion, educators and professional mothers such as Louise will help lead us to achieve a healthier, smarter and stronger future. They have helped me to understand a great deal more about environmental toxins, vaccines and nutrition. With this website, Louise is working hard to deliver valid, documented information about many of our Life and Health Choices. From nutrition to support, from autism to chronic disease, from cause to cure, from friend to friend, you can find many of your answers here. Come hear what she has to say and you will be empowered by her knowledge. Knowledge is empowering and in numbers we will empower the future.

Please support.

Tim Welsh, Autism Advocate, Catlin, IL

I have followed Louise's advocacy.  I have seen her stand up to a system that does not listen, speak up for those who can't, listen to those in need, and give where others walk by. After extensive discussion, I can tell you that Louise has chosen to take the difficult path of health advocacy to a new level.

I have seen her stand up to a system that does not listen...

Life Health Choices will be proactive in nature. It is something that we have needed but only someone like Louise and her team could do. Everyone in any form of health advancement should support her.

Vax Choice Seminars
Louise's seminars on vaccination choice are amazing and well worth the time!  She packs tons of information into a well-organized presentation that gets the audience really thinking. This is a must-see for everyone, not just parents deciding about vaccination.

Trenton Rally
The Trenton Rally for Vaccination Choice brought together over 700 people passionate about vaccination choice in the state of NJ. Doctors, nurses, parents of the vaccine-injured and those who lost children to vaccines, military, toxicologists, attorneys, Gary Null and others took the stage to talk about why New Jersey needs vaccination choice, not more vaccine mandates. Louise was the driving force behind this event and did an amazing job emceeing the event. Louise is a natural leader and crowds do turn out for her!

Corzine/Obama Front Lawn Rally
How does one get the governor's and future President's attention? How about staging a rally on her front lawn, across the street from a major DNC fundraising event? Then Senator Barack Obama and Governor Jon Corzine had to drive by twice en route to the party.  The politicians were greeted by huge rally banners demanding vaccination choice and pointing out the staggering rate of autism in NJ. Louise, one of the masterminds behind this idea, happened to live there on that perfect street! Within a few days, Louise organized the rally and had hundreds show up on her front lawn to rally for vaccination choice, catching the President's eye and coaxing the Governor to step out of his car to talk with us all.  I know.  I was there.

Amy Henkel, holistic parenting advocate, Warwick, NY

As the former leader of the Holistic Moms Network for Orange County, NY, I had the privilege of meeting very knowledgeable and dedicated people; men and women who believe in a parent's right to care for their children naturally, holistically and through educated choice.   Our group sponsored Louise's seminar on vaccinations and I was extremely impressed by her professionalism, depth of research and conviction. I have hosted dozens of presentations and hers was, by far, the most well-attended and generated the most interest. Parents need to know both sides of the vaccination argument and women such as Louise are truly voices in the wilderness helping all parents make the best choices for their children.

lisa hunter ryden, mba, mt (ascp), Autism Advocate, austin, tx

I first met Louise at the Autism One Liz Birt Advocacy Training this past May.  She is a passionate, kindred spirit in the autism advocacy community. More than that, however, she is truly a voice for many children who cannot speak and parents who are too exhausted to speak for them. For years after my son’s diagnosis, we could not leave the house.  Change was traumatic for him.  He lost speech and eye contact, and regressed into his own world, after receiving multiple vaccines in one day.  That was the year 2001, and resources were scarce.  Our pediatrician referred to us a neurologist, an audiologist, a psychologist and allergist.  The experts could only prescribe behavior controlling medications, and tell us to find respite care.  There was never a message of hope.  We kept vaccinating our son, unaware that he was experiencing neuro-inflammation and had developed an auditory and sensory processing disorder.  He regressed further to the point of being completely unaware of the world around him. I believe a subset of children have a genetic predisposition to neuro-immune disorders, and that the standard CDC vaccine schedule is not safe for them.  I believe these children can be tested as newborns for amino acid metabolism disorders, low glutathione, low metallothionein, and T and B cell ratios.  However, newborn testing is expensive and not approved at this time by the AMA or AAP.  I now know my son has a neuro-immune disorder, which has been proven by laboratory testing.  Autism is only a symptom of a larger, multi-factorial disorder.  It is tragic that it is not being recognized as being biomedically treatable, and in some cases recoverable!  Doctors said my son would never speak.  Today, he can speak in sentences.  He no longer has incontinence or temper tantrums.  His immune system and his gut are healing.  He was once toxic for seven heavy metals, and today his metals are cleared. My message of hope for other families is that autism is treatable and recoverable!  Thanks Louise, for your advocacy to those outside of our community, and for being the voice for the parents of the newly diagnosed children who cannot leave their homes because they are caring for very ill children.

                   Quote of the week

"It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."

- Robert F. Kennedy (1925-1968)
